My Nanna Manning (pictured above carving figurines out of soap, of all things) has long been the inspiration for many things in my life. Most recently is the new Autumn/Holiday 2008 collection for Winifred Grace. I wish Nanny were around today, as I think she would have loved these 1920s inspired pieces. Created by hand, each piece is made by manipulating oxidized rhinestone chain in to girly, curly, fringe. Definitely a vintage feel with a modern edge. “Sounds good to me!” – Nashville, Tennessee
Tomorrow I'm heading to Nashville to stay with my dear and talented friend Caroline Allison. Caroline lives in Nashville but grew up in my hometown of Atlanta, GA. She is a photographer who is creating beautiful commentary on American culture, and, in my humble opinion, there is a silence to her photos that is so loud it almost has weight to it. Here are a few of my favorites, but you can see more at www.carolineallison.com
The purpose of my visit to Nashville is to make an appearance at The Perfect Pair. This is a fabulous accessories boutique that recently picked up my jewelry line, Winifred Grace. In addition to jewelry they have luscious leather bags, belts, and of course shoes!! Who wouldn't love embroidered cowboy boots??
If you live in Nashville, or know anyone who does, PLEASE send them over to The Perfect Pair 2209 Bandywood Drive, suite I, Nashville, TN 37215 on Thursday, September 4 from 10am until 6pm & Friday, September 5 from 10am until 5pm.
