Amongst the gloomy stack of bills which awaited me today, there was a very bright light–the new issue of Elle Decor! There is a story about a couple living in the Hudson Valley (where my brother lives, and where I spent Wednesday night) and I was struck by a black and white painting on the wall in their dining room. The artist is Raymond Saa and here is some fairly recent work. I quite love the layering and repetition of shapes to create a texture and movement, which is strangely the same technique I tried in my most recent collection of jewelry.
